Meet Bridget Broders
Hello All! My name is Bridget Broders and I am the owner of Blue Water Destinations! I started BWD in March of 2016 after planning my own destination wedding! I love travel and helping others make their travel dreams a reality was exciting and rewarding so I decided to start my own small travel agency! Little did I know that over the next 5 years I would own a travel agency that was a top agency out of the 6000 agencies in my network across the US?! I have worked hard to gain travelers trust, respect and desire to travel with BWD!
A little about myself
I grew up in small town Nebraska (Decatur), loved growing up in a small town but always had a desire for something bigger! My senior year didn’t go exactly as planned but I wouldn’t change it for the world! I had my first son and had to change my direction a little! I moved to Norfolk after graduating and took on college life with a baby!! I studied accounting and office technology! Although I’m glad I got my degree, but if you know me you know sitting in an office punching numbers isn’t for this girl! I love people and needed a career that surrounded me with that! As a single Mom, my second son was born in 2005, I had to work a few jobs that were not my dream but paid the bills and supported my family and I know that all of that lead me to who I am today! In 2012 my now husband and I started building our family together and I was blessed with 3 bonus kids! In 2016 we were married of course at the beach along with 70 of our amazing friends and family! This made me fall even more in love with travel so when we returned from our destination wedding I started to take the steps to start BWD! As we navigated through the beginning of the new business it was lots of long hours while working a full time job and in 2018 things paid off and I was able to quit my full time job and focus on BWD! 2020 was not a good year to be in travel but we weathered the storm and things couldn’t be more amazing!! All I have to say is I’m clearly not the only one who LOVES to travel because planning travel is at an all time high!

What I love about the travel industry
You get to be a part of so many amazing memories! Honeymoons, destination weddings, anniversary trips, family vacations, once in a lifetime trips and bucket list destinations! People save for years or plan for months to make these vacations happen and it is an honor when they choose me to help them!
Favorite types of travel to plan
My favorite type of travel to plan is all inclusive destinations to Mexico and the Caribbean! Destination weddings, honeymoons, anniversary trips, family vacations or just a getaway to reset life all inclusive vacations is where it’s at! Everything is included, you know your cost upfront and you can eat and drink until you can’t eat and drink anymore! I always tell my clients to diet when they get back from vacation instead of before they vacation!
Favorite thing about traveling
When I travel it gives me a sense of freedom and the desire to learn everything I can about the destinations and the people that live there! I love people and have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing ones along the way! Travel definitely makes me wonder who is living the best lives! Hopefully my future brings me the opportunity to slow down in life and enjoy the scenery around me!
